Come on people give this club a break, being the only gay dance club in Calgary they're trying although the music there is dated I can only hope they might find DJ's that were at Metro or Detour to push them into 2008

I went this weekend and it seemed like a really good gay bar to me everybody was friendly and there was about the same amount of guys as girls there and more gays and lesbians than straight ppl.

Horrible horrible music. Been playing the same awful music for the past 3 years. Never plays anything new. They need to get rid of the DJ, who is also a total creep. The owners themselves are creepy as hell. Str8 women beware of coming to this place, as they descriminate against straight females big time. Try to make girls coat-check their purses if its bigger than a certain size. They sometimes try to make the girls pay cover as well. The only good thing about this bar is good drink prices and bar service. But again the only Gay Club left in Calgary. The Eagle in Calgary spins better music than this place, and isn't full of annorexic female twinks.

LOTS of younger guys (-25), lesbians & straight girls who can't hold their liquor. The music is the same all the time every weekend for months on end. I have to give kudos for the parties though, "Studio 54" was a blast!

The former "Boys' Town" is still an old boys' club. It's a great spot for guys, but women, especially lesbians, are unwelcome by many of the patrons and some of the staff. They won't throw you out, but house policies and attitudes enable biased treatment.

It seems to me that as Calgary grows it get's more boring!! This place is for straight girls and their twink boyfriends...the music is as someone else put it...THUMP, THUMP...boring. Just goes to show how boring and conservative Calgary really is! I miss Boyztown and Detours...they had a GAY character and catered to GAY clients!!
Calgary has to pull it together and open more clubs and bars where the 100,000 or so GLBT community can meet!

I have been there a few times.Lots of guys in their teens and twenties.Straight women with gay guys.Music is disappointing for the most part.Lots of electronic thump thump. What the Calgary clubs are missing is "character"!They just want to make money and no real thought goes into any of it.Its too bad, because alot of people are looking for places to go to have fun,and this city lacks imaginative clubs.Same old shit.

Been in Calgary last March-April 2008 and I must say Twisted Element is the place I've always wanted to go to after work. Kudos to the owners!!!I also met a guy there but I forgot his name already..hahaha..

Drinks are good and nicely priced. Space is nice. As far as a place to dance - well, it is pretty much agreed that the music is horrendous. Grease remixes? Boney M? Please.
Patrons are mostly college kids and straight women.
Would like to see guest DJ's, better music and more men in the crowd. Alas, the mature gay men go to Vancouver to party and leave the local scene to the kids.
Very disappointing.

I was ther on a Saturday night, April 19th, and not sure what to expect, place was not too busy, went downstairs to the lounge, tree t-girls there, one not bad, very nice legs, didn't really see anyone there, except one black guy, that was cute, kept trying to catch his eye. no smoking, was a gfreewat thing, didn't have to peer from acloud of smoke, very nice, may be back. i'm a gay 48 year old, so the music, isn't really very good, lots of lesbians, out there, some very pretty ladies, for the girls.

Not sure where Element's resident DJ gets his music from....or if he does his research. Yes...this place is big, clean and nice BUT the music sucks.
I'm from Vancouver and the Dj's play much better music.

We came from Edmonton for the weekend. Ended up here and will be visting every time we come to Calgary. Two nights of dancing and even caught a terrific show in the basement. Totally awesome club with a full mixture of people. Friendly, happy even the crowd outside was friendly.
Twisted Element Rocks !!

This was an upbeat dance bar with a lot of tables. There were also tvs in the corners with various pictures running. The crowd was very mixed gender, but it was generally young. The music was good dance music.
